A Civil Marriage Ceremony at the Beautiful Rochester City Hall

I am not a wedding photographer.  I don't claim to be one, and really don't want to get into shooting weddings.  I do, however, enjoy elopements, intimate wedding ceremonies with family and close friends, and THIS civil ceremony at Rochester, NY's City Hall! These quiet, sweet events are much more me, and fit my personality and style.  They are also much more conducive to my life as a wife and mom, and my desire to have some family time and flexibility on the weekends, and to have time for other types of sessions.

This bride and groom chose one of the coolest spots in Rochester for their winter wedding ceremony.  The architecture of the City Hall building is so impressive.  I arrived early to take some test shots and scout the area and then just sat for a bit before the bride and groom arrived, to take in the marble, woodwork and gorgeous atrium.  Originally the ceremony was scheduled to take place in a room (like a court room), but when the bride arrived, she was asked if she would like to be married in the atrium instead, and the answer was a resounding "YES"!  We all made our way downstairs from the third floor.  The ceremony was relatively short, but sweet, and emotional and perfect.  I loved all the details that the bride and groom included in their special day.  The bride had beautiful bouquets made by an artisan in Tennessee.  They were wood flowers, and just stunning.  The groom's ring was a custom-made hammered band, because he works with metal and they wanted something to represent that.  The people they are closest to were there to share the day, and then to celebrate after.

I was truly honored to be able to capture this for them.  Here are a few photos from their special day...
