I can't believe it's been almost a year since I last wrote a blog post! Wow... what a year it has been! Over the past year, my business has continued to grow. I have had the privilege of working with so many new clients, and to capture more milestones for my existing ones. In November, I got the opportunity to move my studio to a new location, and the space is one that I have dreamed of having, since starting my business almost 8 years ago.
The new studio is located in the Anderson Arts Building, in Rochester's Neighborhood of the Arts. This area is filled with the work of many talented artisans, and wonderful businesses. The building itself is an old industrial building, so the character is outstanding. When clients arrive, they can either take the stairs to my 4th floor studio, or if they are unable to use the stairs, I can give them a lift in the freight elevator, which is a unique experience, in and of it's self. Many clients have commented on how "cool" the elevator is. This is especially useful for my newborn clients.
The studio is much more spacious than my previous space and, again is loaded with character. From the rustic hardwood floors, and natural brick, to the high ceilings and huge windows that let in the most beautiful natural light. Upon entering the space, clients will find a changing area, equipped with a large mirror, and products such as hair spray, lint rollers and safety pins, to help them put the finishing touches on their look. They will also have access to my ever- growing client closet, which has dresses for women, and outfits for babies up to size 5.
The client can make themselves comfortable in my lounge area, where they can grab a cup of coffee, light snack or bottle of water, and their young children can color, read a book, or play with some toys. There is a changing table for parents with babies, and even the smallest details are taken care of, like a nursing pillow, or bottle warmer, for your comfort and convenience.
The shooting area consists of a large lifestyle area, with a bed, small sofa and endless possibilities. There is also a minimalist white area, with a white wall and white floor for simple shots, and a backdrop area for newborns, cake smash sessions or milestone sessions.
I am so excited to share this space with my clients. It is a work in progress with many small projects I'm hoping to complete over the next few months, but it's already been a gorgeous backdrop by many shoots.
Reach out to book your studio session and experience all that this space has to offer!
