Booking a photography session is an investment, and one that you should definitely do your research on, prior to booking.  I am a business owner, and as much as I would love to have clients, I also want to be sure that we are a good match for each other, and that you are getting the service you are looking for.

I am providing you with some of my most frequently asked questions, by clients.  This may help in your decision making process, and clarify any questions you have.  If it doesn't, please do not hesitate to reach out directly.  I would love to speak with you.

  • What is the retainer? Is it in addition to the cost of the session?
    • A $100 retainer is required for all sessions.  This will be collected at the time of booking, and deducted from the total session price that is listed.
  • How do I save a date?
    • Contracts and retainers are required to book a session.  While we may discuss a session, no session is officially added to my calendar until a signed contract and retainer are received.  During busy season, multiple people may request dates, so it is recommended that you follow through as quickly as possible if you are interested in booking.
  • Can we do a shoot someplace that has to be reserved?
    • Yes, however, any admission costs, parking or costs associated with reserving a venue, are the responsibility of the client, and will be added to the cost of the session.
  • How much time do we get for our session?
    • The amount of time for your session depends on the type of session you are booking, please review the details in the "Pricing" tab, and your contract, closely before booking.  Some sessions may be very short, and not require the full amount of time listed, and some may go a little over, if I feel that we need it to.
  • What if we are running late?
    • Due to an increased number of clients being late, and running into other session times, or obligations I have, I have had to institute a late policy.  If clients are 15 minutes late, a late charge of $25 will be applied to their balance.  If a client is more than 15 minutes late, the session will be rescheduled, and a late fee of 50% of the session fee will be charged, in addition to their original session fee. Please be respectful of my time.
  • Can we have the RAW images?
    • I do not release RAW images to clients, which is a standard practice of most professional photographers.  No exceptions.
  • Can you edit the photos in a different style? (vibrant colors, bright whites, etc)?
    • This is an important one.... I will be editing my sessions as seen in my portfolio.  I do not customize editing styles for each session.
  • Can we bring our dog?
    • I am definitely a dog lover, and my answer is generally yes.  I do like to stress that the dog is your responsibility, and you will be agreeing to that in your contract.  Some locations do not allow dogs, so I need to know ahead of time if you would like to bring the dog, so I can select a location that does allow them.  I do recommend that clients bring an extra person with them to assist with the dog. Dogs at the studio need to go potty prior to entering the building, and any mess that may be made is the responsibility of the client.
  • What if it rains?
    • I make every effort to keep scheduled sessions.  That being said, I will sometimes have to make a last minute call when it comes to rain.  I don't like to reschedule sessions too far ahead, as the weather changes so quickly, and forecasts are very often wrong.  If you have a hair or makeup appointment, please let me know ahead of time, and we can cancel sooner, if needed.  Please read your contract regarding cancellations.
