When a client tells me she wants to book at session at the George Eastman house, I can't help but be thrilled! I mean how much classier does it get? Saturday I photographed Allyson in the beautiful gardens of the home. It was a scorcher outside, but in the shaded areas of the grounds we were able to capture some magnificent shots. Ally is such a sweet girl, and was so easy to work with. She was open to everything I suggested, and had some really good ideas of her own! As I began to edit her photos, I was blown away by how different she looked in so many of the shots. In some of the images she has the sweet innocence of a young girl, and in others, she nailed a super-model stare down.
There's so much I love about my job. One of them is that I get to create an experience that will be remembered for years to come. Her mom and I were talking about how different the whole experience of senior pictures is now, in comparison to years ago. The days of a lame studio session and stiff poses are long over. Today's portrait sessions are fun, personal and anything but "stiff".
Another one of the things I love most about my job is the connections I get to make with people. I love hearing about their experiences, the plans my seniors have for their futures and then seeing the excitement as I show them back of the camera images, and the final product as they view their galleries.
I am proud of what I do, and so excited that I get to do it. What a dream come true!
