It's here. The Coronavirus has officially hit Rochester, NY. While this is extremely scary to many, it has not really changed the way I prepare for my clients. I have always, and will continue to be vigilant about sanitation and cleanliness in my photography studio. Here are a few ways I have always focused on keeping my studio clean and safe for all of my clients, especially the tiniest ones:
1. The studio is wiped down with disinfectant wipes, mopped and vacuumed between clients
2. Changing pads, wraps, and props are washed after each client
3. Toys available for toddler siblings are wiped down with disinfectant wipes after each session
4. Street shoes are removed at the door
5. I use hand sanitizer before, and throughout all of my sessions, especially newborn sessions.
6. If I am sick, I reschedule (luckily this has never happened)
7. I have a wellness policy that I am reminding my clients of in their session reminder emails, which states:
If you are scheduled for a studio session, and you or your child has been sick with a fever, cough or runny nose, vomiting or diarrhea within 48 hours of your session, please notify me, and we will reschedule your session. As stated in your contract, your retainer will be applied to your new session. This is the for the health of all of my clients, and my family and to ensure that YOUR child has the most enjoyable experience possible, with the best shots we can get.
While everyone's life is busy, and rescheduling a photo session is not ideal, please do not risk getting other clients sick by showing up for a session when you or your child is sick. It's not fair to the other clients, me, or to your child, who won't feel up to having their picture taken. I am extremely understanding, and would much rather get a call that you need to reschedule due to illness than have you show up sick and then have to reschedule when you arrive.
