One of the things I love most about my job is the ability to customize my shoots to match the personality and interests of my clients.  This makes them feel special, comfortable and creates images that really reflect on that point in their lives.  I have done many themed birthday sessions.  Everything from football to monsters and mermaids.  For my own son's third birthday session, I wanted to incorporate his love of nature, and his obsession with the book The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson.  We headed off to the "Deep Dark Woods" as he calls it (also known as Mendon Ponds Park) with his book and a couple props.  I definitely didn't want to overdo it with props for this one.  This is just the way I like my sessions... natural, fun and authentic feeling.  He loved it, had a great time, and I loved the way the images turned out.
