You have done your research, or maybe got a recommendation from a friend, but what should you know when you're ready to make your appointment for a photo session?
I am so excited to work with new clients! In order to best serve you, please provide as much detail as possible about what you are looking for in a shoot. Here are some questions I may ask when we connect:
1. Who will be photographed?
2. Which package do you have in mind? (This gives me an idea of whether it will involve one or multiple locations and whether or not you will be using the styling package which requires my coordination of dates and times with hair and makeup artists)
3. Do you have a location in mind? If you don't have a location in mind, that's fine- I can give you some ideas based on what kind of shoot you are looking for and your personality.
4. Dates and times- If you have a date in mind, or multiple dates, let me know. I am able to schedule multiple shoots in one day. The time of your session may depend on when the lighting is best in the location you have selected. For example... a beach shoot is typically best later in the evening just before sunset, and other locations may be better in the morning. I generally will not schedule a session outside in the middle of the day when the sun is super bright.
5. Do you have any special requests or are there any special needs that should be taken into consideration when booking?
6. Once we have agreed on a date, time and location, I will send you out an invoice for your retainer fee and a contract. Once the contract is received, you will be asked to review it, add any pertinent information, sign and return to me. Retainers are due within 7 days of the session and final payment will be due on or before the day of the shoot.
7. About a week before your session, I will reach out to you to do an in-person or phone consultation to make sure we are on the same page regarding the shoot. I will try to get as much information from you as possible about your personality and goals for the session, and we will confirm all the details about the day.
I pride myself in my commitment to customer service. I will respond promptly after I get your inquiry. If you do not hear from me quickly, it simply means that it was after hours and I may not have been near my phone or computer, or maybe I was on the road, or
at a shoot. I will get back to you within one business day for sure!
