Hello there! I'm so glad you're here. It's been a long time since I wrote a blog post, so what better topic to cover than this. I have been getting lots of inquiries lately with similar questions, so I thought I would answer them here for you. I am always happy to chat with clients or potential clients personally though, so don't hesitate to reach out.
I will do a little Q & A with some of my most common questions recently...
Q: Do you have a studio, and if so, where is it located?
A: Yes, I do have a studio. My studio is located in Pittsford, NY. I have been in my current location for about a year and a half now. I love the space. It's easily accessible, and it has room for families to comfortably visit, with a shooting room, parent observation area, and a separate waiting area/ play area for older siblings when we are doing a newborn session.
Q: Do you provide props and outfits for your shoots?
A: Yes, I provide everything needed for your shoot. For newborn sessions, I provide all wraps, props, and accessories for baby. I also have some dresses for mom to try on for maternity and newborn sessions, as well as outfits for baby for milestone and first birthday sessions.
Q: What is your availability?
A: I am a photographer full time, but only shoot certain types of sessions on specific days of the week or times of the day.... I shoot newborn sessions on weekday mornings only. Cake smash sessions typically take place on weekday or weekend mornings. Family sessions and senior sessions take place either in the morning or early evening from spring to late fall. I can usually be flexible with shorter sessions like headshots and fit them in at off times. The busiest time of year for photographers is from June to mid December. If you would like a session during those months, please plan ahead and book early.
Q: Where do you like to shoot outdoor sessions?
A: I have some locations that I use very frequently, and can recommend them depending on the type of session and the feeling you are looking for. I am open to other locations that clients may have in mind, but will offer suggestions for times of day that may work best with lighting.
Q: Will you photograph my wedding?
A: Unfortunately, I have made the decision to not photograph weddings. My specialty is babies and families. I would be more than happy to recommend some great wedding photographers in the area. You may see an occasional wedding in my feed, but that is likely a family member or friend.
Q: Will you photograph our family reunion or extended family gathering?
A: Unfortunately, I have stopped photographing large groups. I prefer the intimate connections of immediate family. There are many photographers in the area that would be great for this job, and I can give you the names of a few, if you are interested.
Q: What do you charge for _____________ session?
A: All of my package information can be found on my website, under the "investments" tab. I keep all packages up to date on the website. If you have questions after checking out the website, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Q: Do you offer mini sessions?
A: I only offer themed mini sessions on specific dates throughout the year. I don't do one-off minis, and do not offer minis for newborn sessions. I post my mini sessions on my Facebook page (and sometimes the website). Visit Mistierawlingsphotography1 on Facebook to see updated mini offerings.
